Mindset MD sleeps out for the night in support of St. Vinnies

Thank you to you all for your generous contributions to the St Vinnie’s CEO Sleepout on Thursday 17 June.

On a cold night that dropped to a minimum of 10 degrees, I joined 683 other business and community leaders in sleeping rough for the night in a bid to experience first hand what it is like for the 105,000 men, women and children who are homeless on any given night of the year.

This is a great charity helping thousands of people each day and they are in desperate need of funding. It was a humbling experience and I feel honoured to have represented Mindset at this event.

It just shows you how far the power of having a vision and a dream can go in making a difference. Over five years ago this started in Sydney with a vision that one day the whole of Australia would participate. Last year the Sydney sleepout raised just over $600k and they were very happy. This year, with the participation of every state, the event has raised over $2.6m with all monies raised going directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnie's homeless services across the country.

I believe that Mindset can achieve its vision with the group of dedicated people that we have. Talking to some of the Vinnes staff on the night, it would be difficult to put a value on the pride and sense of achievement that they felt. It was inspiring!
